In the bottom of a wadi like this is not the best place to break down. Actually, I've no recollection of breaking down. I'm guessing we had some problem though because the hood of the Land Rover is open.
I never really enjoyed staying in Tripoli. I much preferred being in the desert. We used a variety of methods for our Libyan commute but in most cases it involved a Land Rover somewhere along the route.
I titled this shot 'Strolling into Antenna City' for somewhat obvious reasons. I still don't think I've seen such a density of TV antennas since.
I don't really know where I took this photo of a Maltese Angler but he was somewhere on the Tigné Seafront. I was drawn mostly by his elaborately patterned sweater.
I took today's photo early in 1990 in Malta. It's a view of Valletta from Sliema taken from near the Sliema Ferry.
