So when I get tired of the grandeur of majestic vistas I tend to retreat to finding smaller details to enjoy.
I've no idea where I took this photo except it was somewhere near graskop in south africa; near in this context meaning within 25 miles. It was probably close to a road because I was traveling on my own so I wasn't going to get too far from my car.
The rock forms a small natural bridge here. Of course, it's been defaced by graffiti. Strange how prehistoric graffiti is revered as ancient art while modern day graffiti is viewed largely as a public nuisance unless it happens to have been tagged by Banksy.
This photo is actually an HDR made from three different slides. I happened to have a -1, 0, +1 EV set of three slides for this scene so rather than just use the scan of one of them, I decided to take scans of all three and run them through Photomatix to get this result.
