A young man walks down the street accompanied by his mother. They pass workers having lunch in the cafe’s. They’re forced to walk in the road because the sidewalk was seized long ago by the cafe and store owners to expand their mini empires.
You can get a hint of the architecture in this historic hotel from this image. The wooden structure on the left is actually a bird cage. There were a number of colorful small birds within both this enclosure and a similar one on the other side of the lobby. As mentioned before, I’m not an ornithologist so I’ll just stick with ‘birds’.
This property is located at the intersection of Ocean Drive and 11th Street. I was initially drawn to the portholes of the building on the left. Then I noticed the common theme of the pastel blue paint framing the windows of the building on the right and tying the two buildings together despite their architectural differences. Curiously the windows of the middle floor don’t seem to have any circular theme.
In the background is the Parish Church of Saint Wilfrid while in the foreground, the River Wharfe flows beneath a five arched bridge that carries the Dalesway
