It must have been the Chinese equivalent of siesta time when I captured this Li river scene.
The guy on the bamboo raft is just sitting there and there are no signs of life anywhere else. Not on the boat, not by the row of houses.
Clearly many people living here fish the river. Besides the bamboo raft the man is sitting on, there are a couple on the riverbank, a few more floating near him and a collection of others among the trees to the right.
I do like the way the boat owner has painted the window and door frames yellow. It shows, perhaps, a touch more pride of ownership than the owners of this vessel.
The man is actually sitting on a small raised platform, presumably to keep his behind dry!
