I’d arrived in Hong Kong on a foggy day and it was a foggy night in Hong Kong as I got ready to leave.
Today’s photo is of the Royal Viking Sun, berthed in Kowloon in 1989. The Royal Viking Sun was built in 1988, one year earlier, so like the Lippo Center Towers and the Bank of China Tower, she was essentially brand new at the time I took this photo.
Today’s photo is a detail of part of the northwest facade of the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong. Best I can tell it’s pretty much the reverse angle from yesterday’s shot.
I turned my camera horizontal once more and took a wider shot of the east face of the Bank of China Tower. Even back in 1989 my predominant shooting style was run-and-gun.
I must have wandered south along Cotton Tree drive and crossed over Queensway since my next photos were of the Bank of China Tower. The image below was taken from pretty close to the north-east corner of the tower. Not as foggy as the day before, it was still a cloudy day and if you look closely you can see the clouds just brushing the top of the tower. The cloud cover has given the almost white sky.
