What first struck me about this scene was the crop spraying plane that was buzzing around. I didn't get a useable shot of the crop sprayer – it was too far away for my 75-300mm

However, I did like to scene of this farm with the contrast of the red barns, sand house and green alfalfa fields, so I tried a few shots and this one was my favorite. In the metadata I placed it near Wadsworth, Texas. Maybe that name triggered a latent memory of my favorite local ale back in England, Wadworth's 6X. But in trying to find the location on Google Earth while writing this post, I see it is actually much closer to Palacios.

Running along the skyline is a grass covered berm. Behind this berm lies the cooling water lake for the South Texas Project, my local nuclear power station. This part of the Texas Gulf Coast is as flat as the proverbial, hence the need to build a berm to hold the lake.
