I was struck by the lemon-yellow building in this scene. It sits at the entrance to the leisure boat marina in Palacios, Texas. In the background is part of the fishing fleet – shrimp, crabs and oysters being the main business in this town.

The yellow building typifies one of the things I love about the houses that line the Texas Gulf coast – bright, vibrant, saturated colors.

The blue sails and awnings and the red covers on the boats and sails the primary colors dominate this scene while the fluttering Old Glory cements this location firmly in the U.S.A.
