Having captured yesterday’s shot I walked out along the jetty to get a different angle on the fishing boats – a tighter framing. Below is the result rendered in black & white, and below that the color version. As an indication of how friendly I found the local people here, note the fisherman just left of center of the photo waving at me.
Curious title perhaps but the photos below are of the inside of one of our water tanks at our Schoonspruit/Skoonspruit camp! Perhaps it explains why we used to drink so much beer in the evening!

Look closely and you can see our camp pretty much centered side to side and just below the horizon. This view is almost certainly to the south-east, the mountains in the distance being in Lesotho. Most of our camps lasted less than a month before we were off again, nomads in Toyota Hiluxes.
I think there’s something old-worldly, even timeless, about this image of a ford on the Sand River in South Africa.
So the Four Barrows are on the ridge that separates Aldbourne Warren from North Farm. In this photo you can only see three of them, the fourth is hidden behind the stand of trees on the hillside.
