After slumming it in Kuala Lumpur, I took a bus to Singapore. It was quite a comfortable bus and a pretty good way to see the countryside pass by. The in-route entertainment was a succession of martial arts movies – the south-east Asian equivalent of the western. In local language, I couldn't understand them.
Singapore was the end of this particular trip and my then employer was picking up the bill for my weekend in Singapore as I had to visit a warehouse operation we had there. I took advantage of the company rate and stayed at the 4-star Boulevard Hotel on Orchard Boulevard – air conditioned luxury!
While there I took this photo from the floor my room was on, down to the lobby area on the ground floor. The plants were all real. It's interesting how the further away from the glass roof of the atrium the concrete takes on a green hue from all the plants.
