Daily Photo – Wading in the Li River

Wading in the Li River

I wonder what this man was wading in the Li River for. Moments earlier he’d been boldly striding through the water. Now, he was intently looking at something. Food perhaps?

Up on the riverbank behind him a group of people lounge under some trees. I imaging their shooting the breeze, just hanging out, taking a break.

I’d love to know what the star on the building symbolizes. Some official status perhaps? Unlike many of the other buildings hereabouts, the roofs here are tiled, not thatched. It’s not clear if the windows are glazed, but I suspect they are not.

Pulled up on the river bank on the left of the scene is another of those bamboo rafts while the bamboo poles closer to the middle of the image appear just to be a collection of individual poles.
