The photo below shows my Italian and Norwegian climbing buddies taking a rest somewhere near the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
Having decided it was too soon to head down the mountain after watching the sun rise from the summit, we ambled across the plateau on the top of the mountain moving from one peak to the next.
Here, my two friends for the morning are taking a rest near one of the peaks and admiring the view to the east which, having scoured my collection of slides, I don't seem to have an image of. This shot was probably taken sixty to ninety minutes after sunrise. my Italian friend was one of the few who had remembered to pack a warm hat. My Norwegian friend probably didn't notice the cold. Indeed, as the sun climbed higher the cold bone-chilling cold of the pre dawn hours was rapidly receding.
