A lone geranium plant sits below the headstone of Anna Maby, propped against the eastern wall of Colonial Park Cemetery, , . The headstone records that Anna was four months and sixteen days old when she passed in 1821.

Colonial Park Cemetery is though to have held 10,000 graves before being closed to further interments in 1853.

During the Civil War, General Sherman's troops set up camp in the cemetery and moved many of the headstones, like these now propped against the wall. No-one knows where the they belong so they just sit here. Only 600 headstones remain and no-one really knows it those that are set in the ground actually mark the correct graves.
