Today's photo is a more general Li River scene with the karst limestone formations stretching into the haze in the distance.
Hannibal did it by Elephant but I find it easier by aircraft - crossing the Alps that is. In this photo from 1991 everything point to this being a flight from Malta to London.
Mindoro is a contraction of the Spanish 'Mina de Oro' or goldmine, not that there's ever been a big discovery here but panners do find gold in small quantities.
Today's photo shows a fellow trekker descending Mount Kinabalu on a section of the trail above Laban Rata. It's the last photo I took on the Mountain. By now the sun was pretty high in the sky removing any character from the views over the Crocker Range.
The road to Kota Kinabalu is clearly visible in today's image, etched into the side of the ridge near the base of the photo. The Park HQ complex is in the bottom left of the photo.
After a while spend wandering off-trail we decided it was time we were rejoining the pack. The tops of the clouds in this photo are more than a mile vertically below me.
