This image is of the memorial to Captain John Clark. Clark was a Civil War veteran who moved to California after the end of the war. He was found dead under his wagon on June 15, 1915, near this spot.

Of course, no visit to the Hoover Dam is complete without an aerial view. Now you can get a view from the Mike O’Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. I don’t know if you’re allowed to stop on the bridge to take photos – probably not. I took this photo of Meteor Crater back in 2006 while flying on a commercial jet from Las Vegas to Houston. Meteor Crater is about 40 miles west of Winslow, Arizona.
