This overhang in the limestone rack face was a significant swift nesting site. Out of harvesting season, there was no one working on this day. Bird’s nest harvesting is a regulated industry and there were signs above the jetty here warning trespassers off. All the bamboo poles you can see here are used by the harvesters to reach the rock ceiling where the swifts build their nests.

I spotted these fish from the jetty in Ton Sai Bay on Koh Phi Phi Don. What struck me was the one yellow-banded fish among this school of silver fish. Much as I looked around, I didn’t see another one nearby.

Below is a view of how the jetty in Ton Sai Bay on Koh Phi Phi Don used to look. The crystal clear aqua water looks so inviting. This is a view to the south-west so looking at the way the sunlight plays on the limestone hills in the background, I would have taken this later in the afternoon.
