Great view of the City of London taken from the western walkway of Tower Bridge.
My wife and I thought it ironic that we should see a Virgin balloon having flown Virgin Atlantic but we were both thankful that Virgin Atlantic fly Boeing 747s and not balloons such as this!
What first struck me about this scene was the crop spraying plane that was buzzing around. I didn’t get a useable shot of the crop sprayer – it was too far away for my 75-300mm (B&H) and I loused up the exposure for the plane. I’ve spent some more time looking at my mother’s slides and uncovered this gem from 1967. It shows Wood Street in Swindon, Wiltshire. Taken at 4:10 pm, on a rainy afternoon I’m trying to imagine the camera that was used as this is the only one set I’ve uncovered so far taken on regular 35mm film.
