Actually I’ve no idea whether or not this road construction next 5 miles tag is accurate or not. It’s often hard to tell distance in the desert, particularly on these hazy days.
I’ve titled the last in my camel series, ‘I’ve been spotted’. The camel has wandered further away from me to the north-east but in this image it’s as though it’s looking directly at me
I was in the dunes one afternoon, about to head back to camp when along came a camel into my field of view.
Not really life on Mars but if you wanted to fake a Mars landing you could do worse than this part of western Libya. Taken in 1990 it’s almost a reverse view of this shot – in that it’s the same escarpment, but looking down.
Here’s another room with a view from a cave dwelling in western Libya. It may be from the second chamber of the four chamber dwelling but I’ve no records to say it is or isn’t.
A good desert sunset was a rarity, best I can recall, but every now and then a cloud formation would be in the right place to produce something special, such as that in today’s photo.
