Sometimes a sign is too good to pass up. When I passed the ‘Death Valley Health Center’ sign in Shoshone I just had to pull over and capture an image. It reminded me of a sign I once saw in Bennington, Vermont (I’ve yet to scan that one so will save it for a future post). How Teakettle Junction got it’s name has been lost to history but, by virtue of the name, it’s almost obligatory to bring your own kettle, write your name on it and hang it on the sign. Sooner or later the ‘locals’ will come by and remove them and the cycle starts over again.
