I snapped this image of part of the Grand palace in bangkok while racing up the Chao Phraya as a passenger in one of those long-tail boats. Unfortunately this particular roll of film has suffered some damage over the years which has affected the reciprocity of the film. When I look at Google's satellite view of the scene it looks as though the tree on the right in this image has been cut down in the intervening years. Later in the day I went back to the Wat Phra Kaew which is in the north-east corner of the Grand palace complex and open to the public and I'll post some images from there in the coming days.
Of course, when you're shooting from a boat, you need a high shutter speed to keep things crisp. The film was probably Fuji RDP 100 which would have limited my highest shutter speed. With a DSLR you can change the ISO on the fly and noise is less of a problem with the newer DSLRs so you can comfortably go to 800 ISO and not have to worry about noise. 800 ISO will give you plenty of upper range shutter speeds to not have to worry about getting a motion-blur free image.
