Daily Photo – Multi-Chambered Cave Dwelling

This multi-chambered is the last in this series. Again, taken in the same area of Libya as the others I've posted recently.

Looking back now I wish I'd explored these more fully, but then, that's not what I was in Libya to do.

This was the most elaborate of the cave dwellings I had the opportunity to investigate. In addition to the two additional chambers on the left there was a single chamber (best I can recall) on the right.

This main chamber must have been more of a family room.

The portals to the back chambers were no more than three feet high. I've included a photo below that shows my Karimor day pack thrown in to give an idea of the scale.

In none of the I've shown these last few days could I stand up. Either the people that live here were short or they spent a lot of time crouching.
