Daily Photo – Maize Field

As I mentioned yesterday, one advantage of flying in a helicopter that has no doors is that your can get shots like this one, looking straight down onto the field of maize (corn) we were flying over. I recall I had to lean out quite some way to avoid getting the skids in the shot.

The tracks running parallel to the rows of maize were his, the ones running perpendicular were ours.

[...] Driving along these tracks it was impossible to discern the amount of damage we were doing to this farmer’s crops. From the air it was quite evident. If I recall properly, we made about 100 of these parallel tracks through the maize (corn) fields. [...]
