Daily Photo – Jackup at Sunset 3

Here’s a tighter view of the rig in yesterday’s shot – you can tell from the clouds behind the rig.

I usually try to capture at least three views of a scene: the overview, a vignette and a detail view. Yesterday’s shot was the overview – a wide, all encompassing view, typically taken with a wide angle lens. Today’s shot is the vignette. It has more detail on the main subject of yesterday’s image – the rig on the horizon. You might also notice on the horizon to the right of the rig the lights of some vessel much further away.
