Disclosure Statement

I put this page together for the sake of transparency, so my readers understand my position in my reviews, my affiliate status and can confidently follow links in my posts.

I’m Richard Davis. I’ve been a photographer for over 30 years, mostly as a side profession. A few years ago when my wife and I were swapping home offices, I recognized that while I had a vast library of images I was doing very little with them other than storing them, some in file cabinets and some on hard drives. While some had been distributed for profit, most were just languishing in obscurity. I decided that what I wanted to do was share these images, initially with family and friends but then I thought, why not the world? My first blog was just for my extended family but then came Facebook and that blog lost its purpose and so I started this open blog that has continued to grow over the years.

I do not “sell” posts. I do not take money to write about particular companies or products and I do not permit others to provide me with pre-written posts promoting products or companies. This also goes for my all my social media channels. Except where I clearly state otherwise, every post and page on my blog and post on my social media channels is my creation – my words, my opinion. Nobody pays me to do reviews and I don’t accept payment to change my opinions. If someone sends me free stuff to review, that’s always fun, but it doesn’t change my opinion nor whether I recommend it or not. After all, integrity is the value that underpins all the other values.

I only review software, hardware, books, etc. that I actually use. If I’ve never used it I cannot in good faith give a review of it. That also means that I’ve reviewed it for my needs which may not be your needs. In my reviews I’m commenting on how it worked for me in the situation I was using it. You may want to use it differently or in different situations so only you, the reader, can determine if my review has merit for you or not.

This site also has many sponsorships and partnerships that include advertising and affiliate marketing. If you click an ad I might make a penny or two or if you make a purchase I might make a small percentage of the sale but this is at no cost to you. Sometimes I’m even able to save you money through providing coupon codes. For much of the stuff I review I don’t get paid a penny. I recommend these items only because I think they’re great, have found them useful and think you will too.

Any compensation I receive as an affiliate marketer when providing my opinion on products, services, websites and other various topics does NOT affect the topics or posts I make in this blog. I abide by word of mouth marketing standards and believe in honesty of relationship, opining and identity.
