The iPad I had ordered finally arrived today. I guess for Apple, late April means the last day. My wife, Karen, was at home to receive the delivery. Had I still not had meetings planned I would have wrapped up at the office and rushed home, but I didn’t. The Fedex guy told her everyone seemed to be home today to receive these iPads.
My first frustration was that I had to sync the iPad to iTunes before I could use it. If you’ve read my earlier posts you’ll know I’ve had some computer issues recently. I had got the OS back on the system yesterday and I was able to unwrap the 266GB .MIG file back to 32 bit XP (took about 14 hours) and the files are all fine. So, I moved my iTunes files back to their previous location and installed iTunes and synced the iPad.
What a joy this device is. Really simple to use – once you are used to the key placement. And the fingerprints don’t show when you are using the device, as I am now to write this post. What I have noticed is that to write in wordpress you have to use the HTML mode, not the visual mode. No biggie.
Tomorrow I’m off camping with my son. And it looks like it will rain a lot of the weekend. So it will likely be next weekend before I really get to grips with it. Much as I don’t want to, I’m going to leave it at home.
