Like Scott, all of the items here are items I personally have used this year. Unlike Scott’s list, each one of these items costs less than $100. I use it to store my memory cards and an extra set of AA batteries for my flash. It stays on my body so I don’t have to worry about digging for memory cards, it also has two pockets so I can separate full memory cards from empty ones. ![]() Last weekend a friend of mine invited me to the Texans-Raiders game at Reliant Stadium. I haven’t been to many games – I think this was only the third pro game I’ve ever attended. Obviously, growing up in England, (American) Football was never high on my sports agenda. Now I had an opportunity to shoot… no comments ![]() Writing on Google+ on September 19th, Scott Kelby displayed a photo of a football game where someone had walked between him and his subject just as the shutter fired. A lot can happen in that split second between squeezing down on the shutter button and the exposure being made. One advantage of the high end… show 6 comments Some very nice images there Richard. I thought the noise was pretty good for 6400. Cool shots Richard. Too bad about the one shot. I’m a writer, so I have an advantage photographers don’t. I’m able to take as long as I need to compose exactly what I want. You on the other hand are exposed (no pun intended) to situations where you think everything is perfect, only to have an exhuberant fan muck it up for you. I’m thinking that’s just part of the gig for you though. Great shots, and keep it going. BTW – I think you’ve given me an idea for a blog post, “Why are writers more like painters than photographers?” Thanks. They take me back to my old 4-H county fair days! Very cool! That poor mutton busting kid, though, oh my god! I think those two pictures are my favorites. I love how you got the shadows in those shots – it adds a cool feel to things. I guess you either thank your settings or the arena lights! ![]() Worldwide Photowalk October 1 and 2 Scott Kelby’s Fourth Annual Worldwide Photowalk is slated to take place in various places around the world on October 1 and 2. When it comes to my… no comments ![]() Over on Scott Kelby’s blog today is a link to a really interesting conversation between Scott Kelby and Joe McNally. Sans interviewer, the pair have a conversation about where there photography has come from and where it is going. Among the takeaways are: Get it right in the camera (to spend less time at the… no comments |
