The two bridges in this view span the river at Carter Road. The blue bridge is active and carries the road traffic. The rusting bridge in front of it carried one of the railway spurs that used to serve the industrial area known locally as The Flats.
Tag Archives: canon eos 5d mark II I’ve long been fascinated by reflections. I’m like a child seeing itself in a mirror for the first time and trying to make sense of what I see – familiar yet strange simultaneously. 
This is beautiful!!!! Love it……  What I liked particularly about this scene was the strip of cloud obscuring the sun. Below the cloud, the sun is casting radiant colors while above the sun is illuminating the higher clouds seemingly from below making the bottoms white and the tops grey.

On the left is the JW Marriott and on the right is 144 Campau Circle NW, [...]  I took this image from the eastern side of the Grand River, just north of the Pearl Street Bridge. I didn’t have my tripod with me so to steady the camera I braced it on the railing alongside the footpath.  I took this photo South from 30 Rock when I was in New York with my family last summer.

Magi, thanks for your vote of approval!  This view is from near the top of Upham hill looking north over Aldbourne Warren in the foreground, and Liddington Warren in the mid-ground to the clump of trees marking Liddington Hill.  I took this shot of tractor tracks in a field of barley looking across a valley in the Marlborough Downs of Wiltshire, England. The tight crop of the frame is from my use of a 400mm lens to capture this image.

Yesterdays tractor tracks in a field of barley were off frame to the right, below the stand of [...]  Last summer I took this shot of a British Airways 777 heading west in a cloud-free sky over the Marlborough Downs. I know it’s a British Airways plane because at 100% view, you can see the familiar BA tail markings.

I wrote about this in a post last [...]  My wife and I thought it ironic that we should see a Virgin balloon having flown Virgin Atlantic but we were both thankful that Virgin Atlantic fly Boeing 747s and not balloons such as this! |
