And sometimes, just so you remember what it’s like to simply relax and enjoy the sights for their own merits, try to leave the camera at home! (IT IS very hard to do I know!) ![]() So as we come to the end of the year, Scott Kelby posted his annual holiday gear guide so I thought I’d present mine. Like Scott, all of the items here are items I personally have used this year. Unlike Scott’s list, each one of these items costs less than $100. I use it to store my memory cards and an extra set of AA batteries for my flash. It stays on my body so I don’t have to worry about digging for memory cards, it also has two pockets so I can separate full memory cards from empty ones. ![]() So I’d planned to write this post about the USS Cavalla, on display in Seawolf Park, Galveston, Texas, accompanied by a series of photos but I just didn’t get around to it. So all I have right now is this one image of the forward torpedo room that I’ve been working on. Production Data Camera:… Richard, I was just there two weeks ago. That is an amazing photo of the sub. Mine didn’t turn out anything like that! Hey Richard, Nice blog! What’s so revolutionary? The fact that you can refocus the picture AFTER you’ve taken it. If you visit the Picture Gallery page on the Lytro website you can… … [Trackback]… [...] Read More here: richarddavisphotography.com/cameras/the-lytro-lightfield-camera/ [...]… [...] what if we go a step further? Readers of my blog will remember my recent post on the Lytro light field camera. Elsewhere we read of flexible displays, displays that are as thin as a piece of card. As if to underline the point, a cold front has just swept through Texas bringing highs only in the mid 60′s (Fahrenheit, that is). Now, that may not be cold to some, including the ice cream vendor cruising my neighborhood as I write, but it hasn’t been this cold in… ![]() I recently camped out at Brazos Bend state park, a little under an hour’s drive from my home. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years and I was somewhat surprised at how low the water levels were. I shouldn’t have been surprised – after all, Texas is suffering a major drought this year…. great pics of the croc! looks like a nice place to camp A south african ranger told me the difference is also the inner colour of their mouth. Crocodiles have a yellow, alligators a more pink colour. So if your head is in…… You’ll see the difference Man, I hope I never get that close! Thanks for the great information. I think the closest I got to your location when I was in South Africa in the late 1980s was around the Three Rondavels a little to the south of you.
